What is the VSME standard?
VSME (Voluntary Sustainability Reporting Standard for SMEs) is the EU's simplified ESG framework designed specifically for small and medium-sized enterprises. It allows SMEs to produce structured sustainability disclosures aligned with what banks and larger supply chain partners need — without the full complexity of CSRD/ESRS.

Do I need ESG expertise to use this tool?
No. The guided questionnaire takes you through each data point step by step, with explanations of what's needed and why. Most users complete their first report with basic operational data they already have on hand — energy bills, headcount, procurement records.

How long does it take to produce a report?
Most SMEs complete their first report in under 45 minutes using our guided forms and the built-in EFRAG Knowledge Hub. Once your data is ready, Premium users can generate the final XBRL + PDF report in seconds — no formatting, no manual work. Subsequent years are significantly faster since your baseline is already saved.

What is the difference between the free plan and VSME Premium?
The free plan lets you enter data in up to 50% of each section — enough to explore the tool. VSME Premium unlocks all sections, automated KPI calculations, full XBRL, and an editable report generation, unlimited exports, and priority support.

When do I pay?
Only when you want to complete the set of questionnaires and choose to export your report.

Can I make changes after exporting?
Yes — you can continue to amend your data throughout the duration of your license (1 year). Each export counts as one of your report generation credits.

What happens after 1 year?
Your license can be renewed annually. Your data is retained so you can update it for the following reporting year without starting from scratch.
