As part of the 5th ESG Forum organized by Boussias, Yodiwo hosted the masterclass “From Green to Gold: ESG as a Driver of Financial Performance”, designed to help businesses rethink ESG — not just as a compliance task, but as a strategic lever for financial growth.
Moderated by Korina Georgiou, the session brought together industry experts to explore how sustainability, when supported by the right technology, can deliver measurable impact across operations, finance, and corporate strategy.
The panel included Vasilis Katerelos, Sustainability Director at Heracles Group, Thomas Tzavelakis, Senior Manager in ESG Consulting at KPMG Greece (stepping in for Giorgos Iliopoulos), and Alexandros Maniatopoulos, Founder & CEO of Yodiwo. Together, they shared hands-on insights from the field: what’s working, where the pain points are, and how companies are overcoming barriers to ESG maturity.
Key Highlights from the Session
The discussion started by addressing the evolving ESG landscape in Greece and beyond from new regulatory expectations to increasing pressure from investors, customers, and internal stakeholders. Audience polling revealed the current state of ESG adoption across organizations: unfortunately not many see ESG as a value creator and the alignment across leadership and departments is still a challenge.
Vasilis Katerelos shared how Heracles Group began investing in sustainability before it became a regulatory requirement, and how that early strategy now delivers business returns. He emphasized the importance of cross-functional alignment and data visibility.
